Error codeLC

Quick answer
What LC means on a Miele induction hob and how the lock is deactivated.
Model compatibility
Miele reuses codes across series and model years, so LC may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What thiscode means
The system lock or safety lock is activated and the hob does not function.
LC on the display of a Miele hob is not a breakdown message. It shows that the system lock or safety lock is switched on, and the hob function does not work while it is active. The support text covers induction hobs.
Two kinds of lock
System lock: the hob cannot be switched on.
Safety lock: the hob can be operated only under certain conditions.
How to deactivate it
The method depends on the control elements of your hob, so the operating instructions are the first place to look. The support text also lists sensor control combinations. One example: touch the + and – sensor controls at the same time until L goes out on the front left and C on the front right cooking zone display, and a tone sounds. Another: turn the rotary controls for both front cooking zones anti-clockwise to the point of resistance and hold them until LC goes out.
Some hobs lock with a long touch. Touching the On Off sensor control for 6 seconds sets the system lock, and the timer display then shows LC briefly before the seconds count down.
