What to check
Make sure an object has not blocked the fan, and remove the obstruction if so.
If a drawer sits directly under the hob, Miele’s operating instructions for the KM 7000 induction cooktops ask for enough space between the drawer and its contents and the underside of the cooktop. Small or pointed items, paper and napkins stored there can be sucked in through the ventilation slots and damage the fan or weaken cooling.
A whirring sound when the cooling fan starts is normal during heavy use. The fan can also run on after the hob is off until it has cooled, and may restart briefly while residual heat remains.
A fault that remains after that goes to Miele Customer Service, or to an online repair booking.
