Reading one: heating system
Miele lists F82 with F1 to F4, F80, F81 and F83. Switch the machine off with the On/Off switch and let it cool for 1 hour. If the room had been below 10 °C for an extended period, it must be above 15 °C for an extended period before you use the machine.
Reading two: brew unit needs cleaning
The brew unit has not been sufficiently cleaned. Remove and clean it once a week, and clean the area below it once a week too. This is manual work on top of the automatic cleaning, and a cleaning tablet may be needed to degrease the unit even with the cleaning cartridge fitted.
Open the appliance door and remove the water container.
Press the button on the bottom of the brew unit handle and turn the handle forwards.
Pull the brew unit sideways, slide it out forwards and tilt it forwards.
Do not change the handle position once the unit is out, or it cannot be reinserted. Its moving parts are lubricated and cleaning agents damage it, so wash it by hand under warm running water with no washing-up liquid. Rub coffee residue off the two filters (one in the funnel, one to its left) and dry the funnel. Vacuum dry residue from the machine and wipe the brew unit niche with a damp, clean sponge cloth.
Manual descaling matters too: it takes 2 descaling tablets and is not done through the descaling cartridge.
