Plain language
What thiscode means
Leak detected at the drain filter; the drain filter is not screwed tight.
F373 shows on the display of Miele washing machines and washer-dryers. A leak was detected in the area of the drain filter. The drain filter has not been screwed tight.
What to do
Screw the drain filters tight.
Miele’s support page for a leak at the bottom left front access panel gives the same cause, a filter that is not tight or was screwed in cross-threaded, and a fuller routine:
Switch the washer off and open the access panel for the drain pump.
Put a container under the panel and slowly unscrew the drain filters to let the water out. Tighten them again to stop the flow, and unscrew them fully only once water stops running.
Clean the filters and check that the pump impellers turn freely. Remove foreign objects such as buttons or coins.
Put each filter back on its correct side, screw both tight and close the panel.
Take care draining suds, since laundry washed at a high temperature can scald. Never unscrew the filters completely while water is still coming out. A blocked drain can leave a large amount of water in the drum. If the fault stays, Miele says to contact its Customer Service or book a repair appointment.
