Error codeF35 / Door release
ApplianceWasher
Quick answer
F35 (Door release, call Customer Service) means the washer door could not be unlocked, or the drum on a top loader could not be unlocked.
Model compatibility
Miele reuses codes across series and model years, so F35 / Door release may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What thiscode means
Door (or drum on top loaders) cannot unlock.
Fault F35 reads Door release, call Customer Service, or The door lock is jammed. Opening the door failed, or on a top loader the drum would not release. Miele treats it as a technical fault in its washing machines.
Reset first
Cut the mains supply by switching off at the wall and removing the plug, or by disconnecting the fuse. Leave it for at least 2 minutes, reconnect, and power up again. Should F35 remain, get in touch with Miele Customer Service or book a repair appointment online.
Emergency door release
Pull the mains plug before you start. Escaping suds are hot if the laundry was washed at a high temperature, so there is a risk of scalding. There may be a considerable amount of water inside, and the emergency release must not be used before the water is drained. Note the quantity of water as you drain it:
Open the access panel for the drain pump and place a suitable container, such as a universal tray, under it.
Slowly unscrew the drain filters to let the water out; tighten them to interrupt the flow.
When water stops flowing, screw the filters tight. Loose filters can leak and leakage can cause damage.
Reaching into a moving drum is extremely dangerous, so make sure the drum is stationary before you reach in.

If the door will not close and lock, read F34. An unlevel washer is covered by F37.
