Error codeF55
ApplianceDryer
Quick answer
F55 on a Miele dryer means the laundry stayed damp after the 180-minute maximum drying time.
Model compatibility
Miele reuses codes across series and model years, so F55 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What thiscode means
Laundry still damp after 180-minute maximum drying time.
F55 on a Miele dryer display means the laundry is still not dry after the maximum drying time of 180 minutes. It applies only with the residual moisture drying programme.
Three causes the manual lists
The drum is too full
Do not exceed the maximum load size for the drying programme selected. The operating instructions give the load sizes.
The laundry is too damp
Spin the wash in the washing machine at a higher speed before it goes in the dryer.
The fluff filters are soiled
Clean them as follows.
Open the door.
Pull the upper fluff filter forwards to remove it.
Remove the fluff from the surface of all the fluff filters and the perforated laundry deflector.
Turn the yellow rotary control on the lower fluff filter in the direction of the arrow until it clicks, hold it, and pull the lower filter forwards.
Vacuum visible fluff from the upper air flow openings with a long crevice nozzle.
Wipe the smooth plastic surfaces with a damp cloth and rinse the filters under warm running water.
Shake the filters well and dry them carefully, because wet filters can cause faults while drying.
Push the lower filter in fully and lock it with the yellow control, push the upper filter all the way in, and close the door.
Dispose of the collected fluff with household waste rather than rinsing it into the drain.
